Rigorous hygiene standards are maintained for your safety. At Miller Dental we use purified water throughout all of our operatory water lines. We strive to meet and/or exceed the CDC and ADA guidelines for cleaning and sterilizing all of our equipment, instruments, and surfaces. We always use disposable items when possible and personal protective equipment for every patient.
We use state of the art laboratories to create all of the lab-made restorations (crowns, bridges, night guards, dentures, partials etc.) to ensure optimal quality and the most natural appearing restorations. We set high expectations in all of our lab-made cases which allows us to provide beautiful, stronger, natural looking smiles.
Digital Radiographs (more commonly known as “x-rays”) are the safest radiographs available today. By using digital radiography, we are able to offer an immediate reduction in radiation to our patients in comparison to conventional radiographs (approximately 90% radiation reduction). Digital radiography allows us to diagnose dental related problems at their earliest stages with high quality images. These images, unlike images of the past, instantly appear on a computer monitor and allow us to enlarge important details for a thorough diagnosis. Lockheed Martin, (an aerospace manufacturer of the Magellan Venus Spacecraft and the Hubble Telescope) designed the digital sensor that is now the main factor of this technology. The sensor is uniquely shaped and allows increased positioning accuracy.
Digital photography is performed by using a small video camera the size of a pen designed to capture images inside of the mouth. Photos are displayed on a nearby computer monitor for both clinician and patient viewing. Since the camera magnifies images, our team can more clearly see small irregularities that may have been missed with the naked eye. It is also used for before and after dental procedure photos and patient education.
Laser Tissue Treatment
We offer a variety of non-invasive soft tissue diode laser treatments that are specific to your needs. The tissue that surrounds teeth and their roots (gums) may have abnormalities that may need attention. Laser treatments aid in: tissue development, tissue reconstruction, abnormal tissue growth elimination, and for tissue improvements esthetically. Laser tissue recontouring is our most popular tissue procedure to eliminate gingival overgrowth (gummy smiles). All of our laser treatments are virtually pain free, will not cause bleeding and have low risks for infection. Following treatments, slight soreness may occur short-term which will not interfere with daily activities. An attractive smile includes both healthy teeth and gums.
Laser Cavity Detection
The DIAGNOdent pen technology offers our patients a convenient, safe and pain-free way to find cavities in the earliest stages possible. By using this specialized laser light across tooth surfaces during each preventive appointment, Dr. Miller is able to monitor and detect lesions. When lesions are caught early on, important tooth surfaces can be preserved.
These specialized prescription glasses allow Dr. Miller and her team increased magnification and visibility in order to detect and treat the smallest areas in the mouth.
Our hygiene team uses a variety of hand instruments along with ultrasonic technology. Together, both instrumentation methods offer complete detoxification in areas above and below the gumline comfortably. Ultrasonic technology uses specialized high frequency sound waves to effectively clean teeth and irrigate gum tissue to reach optimal oral health.
Single Tooth Anesthesia
During many restorative appointments, Dr. Miller uses STA System technology which involves computer controlled local anesthesia delivery to enhance the injection process. Audio and visual signals within this specialized system make local anesthesia administration more accurate and less stressful.
Sapphire Plus Lesion Detection
Early oral cancer detection is vital. When it is discovered late, survival rates are as low as 28%. However when it is discovered early, survival rates are as high as 82%. Our Sapphire Plus Lesion Detection is used to discover what is hidden. Normal tissue appears green while dysplasia may appear as a dark area, exposing potential suspicious lesions that may not have been apparent under incandescent light.
We offer a variety of Sonicare toothbrushes which use ultrasonic technology as well as mechanical movement to remove plaque and bacteria. Each brush is able to deliver a minimum of 31,000 brush sweeps per minute. By combining high-frequency brushing and sonic waves, these specialized brushes remove plaque even beyond the reach of the bristles alone. ITero Digital Impressions
We make our patients feel more comfortable at the dental office by implementing our intra-oral digital impressions machine called the iTero. The iTero provides digital impressions using a digital laser scanner inside your mouth to make digitally perfect impressions of your mouth. No more old fashioned ways using sticky hydrocarbon impression materials!
